Time to start bringing in some midtones, methinks.

Possibly and unknowingly infringing on a number of copyrights!

Inktober Day 1

'Dindins'

My submission for this year's Animation Art Show.

Still Wingin' It

Again, for this year's Animation Art Show. 1st, 2nd and 3rd attempts at Mr Calavera didn't go very well, he just didn't have much life to him (HA!). So I decided to go in a different direction altogether...

Time to bake... God help me.

Wingin' It

For this year's Animation Art Show. End of day 1... could go either way.

Mr. Bean End Title Process

Obviously I had nothing to do with this but I can't stop watching it, it's fantastic. And it's a good argument for using video reference in animation, especially when that video reference is the man himself!

I Am Contradiction

There's no pleasing some people.

Fun fact: there was going to be a sequel (SPOILERS for the first movie), Hollywood sometimes you just crack me up!

World War Zzzz

True story, except that I was wearing a different jumper.

Lifedrawing 23/4/14

Fun class this week, we had 3 minutes (maybe 4, I can't remember) to make a cut-out of the model using a stanley blade and coloured paper. Amazingly, nobody was hurt.

Animation Showreel 2014

Felt about time I updated my showreel so here's blood, sweat and tears condensed into a handy 1 and a half minute video! A lad I know said that whatever amount of time you think it will take to make, multiply it by 5.... he was not wrong.

11 Second Club - December '13

Happy new year folks! I recently entered the 11 second club for December... a word of advice, never do the 11 second club at Christmas time, your holliers go out the window! I'm happy to say though that I came in 5th place so it was worth it, well chuffed!

I'll go back and jazz up the lighting and render it in HD at some point but for now here it is as the competition requires it.

The Legend of Megamaritetroid!!

My submission for this year's Animation Art Auction. It was a huge success last year so hopefully we'll raise even more money next weekend.

It was a lot of work but fun to do, I think it took around 25 hours to complete... my shoulders were sore afterwards, I just want to point that out.

Acryllic paint on A4 watercolour paper.

Untitled WIP

For this year's Animation Art Show, I'm still deciding how I'm going to colour it.

The Amazing World Of Gumball - 3d Animation Showreel Part 2

Part 2 of some of the work I did for season 1 of Gumball, if you've never seen it it's a fantastic show! Next up Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja.

The Amazing World Of Gumball - 3d Animation Showreel Part 1

I removed the previous Gumball post cuz it wasn't happy with it and would have taken too long to do the rest of the episodes that way. So, I've decided to condense all of season 1 into 2 handy videos.

I won't be doing part 2 for awhile as I'm getting married on Saturday and then I'm off to the States and Mexico for 2 weeks, whoop whoop!!

Lifedrawing 07/05/13

This session we were also asked to move away from drawing everything in the centre of the page and instead try to move things around using all or some of the pose and see if we could come up with something more interesting from the norm:

I tried putting the first 3 poses together in the same space.

Movie poster for a classic horror or murder mystery.

Propaganda poster (I've been playing a lot of Bioshock Infinite).
